Adjustments  

A cry swerves into sleep.

I fumble for an off switch.

*

A head nods and dips

like a buoy and floats away.

*

We wake towards

a bubbling inarticulacy.

 

About the Poet

Aidan Coleman’s two collections of poetry, Avenue and Runways and Asymmetry have been shortlisted for numerous national book awards in Australia. He writes Shakespeare textbooks and is a co-designer of the MOOC Shakespeare Matters with the AdelaideX project.
